UAW-GM Contributes to Relay For Life

2014-06-07

On June 7, 2014, a team from the Corvette Assembly Plant represented the UAW and GM at the Bowling Green 2014 Relay for Life. These volunteers have devoted not only their time and energy to the American Cancer Society- but also their skills and their stories of tribulation and triumph. The phrase “cancer never sleeps” has been uttered by more than just a few of these teammates, but it, too, applies to them. Due to their tireless efforts, they have raised over $15,000 this year alone! Hard work is only half of the battle; planning and creativity are also required.. Everything from printing high-quality Corvette calendars for sale to selling concessions to workers during the shift, these ladies have secured a healthy flow of revenue to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. We are proud of this dedicated team and their 1, 2 punch at cancer.
